Canada Post to restart operations on December 17 and welcome back employees

Please check the latest information on the Canada Post strike:

The Canada Post strike has temporarily ended.

1. From 8:00 a.m. local time on December 17, 2024, Canada Post will resume delivery and start processing mail and parcels that have been stranded in the system since the strike began on November 15, 2024 according to the principle of "first in, first out" (the strike lasted 32 days);

2. Due to the impact of cargo accumulation, it is expected that it will take until January 2025 to complete the cleanup, so the slow delivery of Canada Post will still exist;

3. The post office will not start accepting new international mail until December 23, 2024;

4. The legislation will last until May 22, 2025, so there may still be negotiations that fail to reach an agreement and produce abnormal phenomena.
